Nighty night Los Angeles
The Los Angeles coastal area was first settled by the Tongva (Gabrieleños) and Chumash Native American tribes thousands of years ago. A Gabrielino settlement in the area was called iyáanga (written Yang-na by the Spanish), meaning "poison oak place". Los Angeles is often billed as the "Creative Capital of the World", because one in every six of its residents works in a creative industry, and there are more artists, writers, filmmakers, actors, dancers and musicians living and working in Los Angeles than any other city at any time in history.
